Report of my food experience lived in these quarantine days.

Hello, people, here is Liv!

We are following, during these 6 months of quarantine, the changes in the lifestyles of many people around the world. Changes ranging from the relationship between people, health and leisure to food. Today we are going to talk about this last habit, food. How our eating habits changed during these months?

I will share my personal experience in this quarantine with you and an example of what I eat in one day. However, I need to present a brief context of my food routine before we begin.

I have a food rule that I have been keeping since 2017 that consists of eating every 2 hours. I have a very fast metabolism. If I stay a long time without eating, I lose weight very fast. It took me a long time to understand that my body worked like this.

Coming back to the experience lived in the quarantine, being at home during this period, for me, brought the resumption of a routine with the right time to eat. To eat healthier, enjoying the foods, choosing better what to eat, no hurry and no worries about lunch times or snack breaks. The result of this eating habit, acquired during this period, is the recovery of a few pounds lost during the work routine, previous to the pandemic, which for me, is a great benefit.

See an example of what I eat during this quarantine time. Description of the most important meals, for me, in a day (breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, after dinner.)

Breakfast: I used to drink some juice of orange or orange with beet, bread and a creamy cheese.

Lunch: Ground beef with sweet potato, lettuce salad, tomato and onion (I love raw onion) and juice of Swiss lemonade.

Afternoon snack: Sometimes one banana or tapioca stuffed with cheese and ham, yogurt or chocolate milk.

Dinner: Pasta with grated cheese or sometimes I eat couscous with butter.

After dinner: I eat milk with one apple to sleep.

In some weeks of this quarantine, I exaggerated eating carbohydrates. Too much bread, cookies, pasta. I should have included more fruits, vegetables in my diet. I am going to put more fruits and vegetables in my diet also I will go to eat less sugar, like cookies. A solution that I will have to do to make my diet healthier.

With the routine coming back to the “normal”, this diet happens to be changed. To eat every 2 hours gets complicated, because of the work, but I will try not to stay without eating.
