MY EATING HABITS IN QUARANTINE

Camila Assis — terça e quinta 17h

I always think about my food and I like to have good eating habits because I want to take care of my health and the environment. I did not change many things during quarantine, but now I am cooking more because before I used to eat at the university restaurant. At the beginning of the quarantine I relaxed my eating habits because I didn’t want to stop eating greasy food, however the quarantine continued for a long time so I needed to improve my eating habits.

BREAKFAST

In the morning, I like to eat light food like fruit, juice or cereals. Today, I ate banana with linseed, honey, ground peanuts and fermented milk. I chose this food because it’s high in protein and vitamins, and it’s low in calories. I usually feel satisfied when I eat this. Fermented milk is tasty and good for my gut health, which is very important for our well-being. Other examples are shown in the picture 1, 2 and 3.

LUNCH

My lunch has many vegetables and grains and there isn’t any meat because I am vegetarian. I love vegetables and I like to eat salad as I show in the picture 4 and 5. I am eating food low in calories and carbs in the quarantine because I exercise less. I try to eat high in protein food such as rice and bean, lentil, quinoa, eggs and chickpeas. Today, I ate soy meat with okra as my main source of protein, eggplant and a scoop of potatoes because I need energy (picture 7).

DINNER

I usually don’t have dinner, Ieat bread (picture 8), porridge, fruit (picture 9), cake, pancake of banana and other healthy recipes. Sometimes I eat light food like soup or broth. In picture 10 there is a dish that I love: bean with coconut milk. Before I go to sleep I like to drink a hot drink like tea.
